Chapter 04

Time and turn updates

Understand hourly updates and what happens while you are away.

One real hour, one turn

Turns close once per real hour at minute 00 in UTC. Dates and times are displayed in your device's time zone. In Japan, this is also minute 00 of each hour. Opening the game repeatedly does not fast-forward a turn.

The displayed scheduled time is the deadline for that turn. Moving the clock backward does not reopen completed turns or expired deadlines. Keep your device's date and time set correctly.

Time accumulates while the app is closed

The initial version runs on your device. When you open or resume it, elapsed turns are processed in order. You do not need to leave the app continuously running in the background.

The 50-turn limit is the length of your future schedule, not a limit on time away. If 60 hourly updates are due, all 60 are processed. Food consumption, upkeep, automatic care, and disasters continue after the last reserved action.

What happens inside a turn

  1. Apply policies and upgrades that become effective, then carry out advance actions such as fundraising, evacuation, emergency response, and repairs.
  2. Resolve arriving events, then determine facility capacity and the workforce after any damage.
  3. Produce food and materials at farms, fishing harbors, and mines, then purchase food and materials.
  4. Residents consume food, factories and tourism lodges operate, taxes arrive, and operating costs and unpaid bills are paid.
  5. Carry out development such as construction, then sell resources.
  6. Update the environment, happiness, population, and excess storage losses. Record results and announce any new future event.

This sequence matters for cash flow. Current factory sales and taxes may help pay for construction later in the same turn, but exports occur after construction and cannot fund it that turn. New residents arrive at the end and start working, eating, and paying tax on the next turn.
