Chapter 07
Read the 50-hour forecast
Check whether you can pay along the way, not just at the end.
Review Economy after changing a plan
The 50-hour cash forecast uses your current island, reservations, policies, and already announced events. Viewing it does not spend real cash or resources, consume reservations, or advance the actual turn.
- Check Lowest projected cash to see whether funds become scarce at any point.
- If Unsuccessful actions is above zero, inspect the turn details to find when conditions fail.
- Also check food shortages, unpaid costs, population, and operating balance. A plan should support continued operations as well as complete its construction.
- Use Show all 50 turns to look beyond the first ten displayed turns. Review the forecast again after changing reservations or policies.
A positive closing balance can hide a cash shortage
Purchases happen before factory sales and tax, while resource exports happen after construction. Even if exports later increase the closing balance, a building cannot be paid for with cash that has not yet arrived. Read minimum cash alongside the unsuccessful-action count.
Reserve targets also affect development. Having more cash than the construction price is not enough if the project would leave cash, food, or materials below the required reserve. Spreading development across later turns can leave more room.
The forecast is not a guarantee
Elapsed turns and save errors must be resolved before a forecast can be produced. If the forecast is unavailable, check the error message and the result of Retry.
